Another Day, Another Protest,
We’re at the UN
Our basic • premise for this campaign:
Hard-to-promote campaigns demand inventive strategy (and realistic expectations).
.
PR Challenge:
Our challenge is to draw international media attention to the shameful role played by entrenched interests, notably the “Big Five” members of the UN Security Council, during a special meeting of the General Assembly. However, public events, protests and marches and meetings are so commonly held in Dag Hammarskjöld Plaza, across from the United Nations headquarters in New York City, that even the pigeons barely notice.
.
Our Strategy:
We settle for a photo op.
.
Our Success Story:
We created five gigantic puppets representing each of the permanent members of the UN Security Council are created, providing a successful “photo op” of China, Britain, Russia, the US and France.
